Mabel I. Brandt, 89

Mabel I. Brandt, 89, of W. Lexington Road, Lititz, Pa, passed away at her residence on June 17, 2015. Born in Port Trevorton, Snyder County, PA, she was the widow of Christian M. Brandt and the daughter of the late George A. and Maude M. Reichenbach Herrold.
While living in Snyder County, Mabel was a member of Paradise EUB Church where she helped with Bible school and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society.
Mabel’s hobbies included sewing, looking at recipe books, going to yard/garage sales, public auctions, canning, especially her famous banana pickles and watching Days of Our Lives. She enjoyed ice cream, especially teaberry, and chocolate candy. Her dog, Hope, and her cat, June, brought her great pleasure
For many years she hosted four generations of the family at a yearly reunion at her home.
Mabel worked in the production department of Woodstream Corporation. She was a faithful member of Brickerville United Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her two children, Larry L. Herrold, companion of Barbara A. Keffer, Lititz, Susie K. Getz, Elizabethtown, PA and wife of Gerald L. Getz, Harrisburg, and a granddaughter, Pamela Getz, Elizabethtown, with whom she shared a special bond. Mabel was the last of her immediate family having been pre-deceased by three brothers and two sisters. Also another sister in infancy and stillborn twin brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mabel’s Memorial Service from the Brickerville United Lutheran Church, 340 East 28th Division Highway, Lititz, PA 17543 on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with The Rev. Scott K. Davis officiating. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Flowers will be received or a donation to help with funeral expenses will be gratefully accepted.
