Ruth Lamy Brons
May 28, 2013
Ruth Lamy Brons, May 28,2013. Born in Evanston, Illinois on November 2nd, 1937, she was the oldest child of the late Raymond P. Lamy and Ruth Lamy. She is survived by her brother, Ray, and her sister, Holly.
On June 13th, 1959 she married her husband of 54 years, Jack Brons. She is the mother of Marianne Cooley, Betsy Snyder and Mickey Brons. She is the proud grandmother of 14: Cara and Ned Cooley, Drew, Brent, Mandy, Cory and TJ Snyder, and Edmund, Tess, Charlize, Jack, Miriam, Gil and Peter Brons.
She was a woman of great faith. A daily communicant at St. Joseph’s of Lancaster, she practiced her faith in many ways but very notably through her unparalleled generosity to her family and friends. She was always more concerned about the needs of others than of her own.
She was a model wife, mother, grandmother and friend. An excellent cook, hostess, fixer of wounds, teacher and adviser, she dubbed herself "Loving Domestic Engineer." Sometimes known as "bawl ’em out on the spot Mommy," her love for her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends was unconditional and unbounded-although she expected all to be the best that they could be, all the time.
Finally, she always told her family and friends that she prayed. She was a true prayer warrior. We who she leaves behind are comforted by the knowledge that she still is.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Requiem Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, PA 17603 on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 11AM, the Rev. John Ringley as Celebrant. Interment will be private in Evanston, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church at the above address. I believe I might be her 2nd cousin once removed. I am the Great Great Grandson of Louis Prosper Lamy (1842 – 1910). I am sorry for you loss.
Robert Barlow Jr.
My heartfelt prayers are with my friend MaryAnn Cooley and family on the passing of her Mother Ruth. May all who knew and loved her find comfort in their faith and in the love they experienced during their Mother’s lifetime.

Our heart aches for you and your family during this time. Your mother was such an amazing person and she will truly be missed. Betsy, I know you spent a lot of time going back and forth to Pennsylvania to help care for your mother. She appreciated it so much. Your mother and father (I cannot leave your dad out)was such a pleasure to be around when they would come for a visit.
God Bless her,and may she rest in peace.
Our Condolences,
Clint, Judy & Connor Lindsay
So sad to find this news – my heartfelt and sincere thoughts and prayers are with Mick, Jack and the whole family. I met Ruth and Jack years ago when Mick and I became friends at camp (FLC). Ruth was a great lady – I know she will be missed but remembered fondly.
