Anthony F. Duschl

Anthony F. “Tony” Duschl 77 of 337 Richland Dr. died peacefully at home on Saturday, December 16, 2006, with his family beside him.

Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Anton Frances (Dilger) Duschl. Tony was married to Elizabeth J “Betty” Wolf Duschl for 55 years. Tony and Betty formerly resided on Cottage Ave. Lancaster.   

Tony was the owner of Duschl’s TV Center 709 E Orange St. for 46 years which he opened in 1959. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was a usher at church. Tony was a member of the Lancaster Liederkranz, a volunteer at the yearly October Fest and was the manager of the Hobby Chor the past 10 years. Tony was also a fourth degree Knight of Columbus Santa Maria Assembly and a member of council 867 Knights of Columbus where he participated on their bowling team. Tony was a veteran of the Korean War US Army held the rank of sergeant 1st class. He enjoyed traveling and especially going to Germany, dancing, fishing, playing cards and loved spending time with his grandchildren.    

Surviving in addition to his wife are 6 children: Barbara L Bisking of San Antonio TX; Susan M. Charles, wife of Luke of Holtwood PA; Robert A Duschl, husband of Betty A.; Kathryn F Smith; David J Duschl, husband of Beate, Lancaster PA; and Jodi L. Garner, Mount Joy PA. In addition there are 15 grandchildren: Pamela,  Kevin, Amanda, Lisa Marie, Eric, Todd, Kurt, Matthew, Ryan, Brittany, Corey, Thomas, Abigail, Daniel and Michael; 4 great grandchildren: Alexis, Joshua, Robert III and Malorie Grace. In addition are 3 brothers and 3 sisters: Frederick Duschl, husband of Gaynelle of Lampeter; John Duschl, husband of Joanne; Joseph Duschl, husband of Linda; Anna Schmidt, wife of William; Mary Dorsey; Joan Rehm, wife of William, all of Lancaster.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 11am from St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 501 E Orange St Lancaster PA 17602. Interment will be in St Anthony cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6pm to 9pm at the Charles F Snyder Funeral Home 414 E king St Lancaster with the Christian Prayer Service being held at 8:30pm. A second viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 9am to 10:30 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St Anthony Catholic Church or Hospice of Lancaster County 685 Good Dr  Lancaster  17603 or American Cancer Society, 314 Good Dr Lancaster 17603.
