Libby S. Miller, 10

February 09, 2022

Libby Shannon Miller, 10, of Lititz, passed away as a result of a tragic car accident on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

Libby was born on June 2, 2011 in Lancaster, PA and was the daughter of David Miller of Mt. Joy, PA and Brooke Carlock Lobaugh of Lititz, PA, who both agree she was literally the best daughter ever.

Libby attended John R. Bonfield Elementary School in Lititz where she was a 5th grader and beloved by teachers and fellow students alike. Her standards for herself both as a student and a class leader and helper were impossibly high.

The most kind, caring and compassionate young lady you could ever meet, Libby had a smile that could light up your soul. She loved to make people laugh and constantly worried about other people’s happiness.

She adored spending time with her family and friends, taking hikes, playing games, going on trips, and watching movies. She loved Hamilton, Little House on the Prairie, learning about history, making crafts, being silly, playing pranks on her family, singing, chatting with her friends on her iPad, and eating noodles and M&M yogurt.

Besides family and friends, the most important thing in Libby’s life was dance. As soon as she could start walking, she started dancing – and she never stopped. She was a member of the Dance Dynamix competition team in Lititz, PA, and it became her second home and family. She truly had a natural grace, poise, and talent that radiated beyond her years. Her famous Cirque du Soleil-like flexibility left people in awe (or made them cringe).

Libby is survived by her mother, Brooke Carlock Lobaugh, and stepfather Charles “Marty” Lobaugh; father David Miller; brothers Maxwell Miller and Grayson Miller; stepbrother Noah Lobaugh; grandmothers Cynthia Carlock, Diane Hershey, and Linda Lobaugh; and grandfather Jeffrey Miller, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Thomas Carlock.

Libby will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, laughing eyes, sweet, caring heart, and unconditional love. She was the epitome of pure, innocent kindness. As several of the people who loved her put it best – although her loss is senseless and so incredibly painful, we should all honor her by trying to make the world a better place just like she did. Simply put: Live Like Libby.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, and Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.

Visitation will be available from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. before the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the Libby Miller Memorial Dance Scholarship has been created in Libby’s honor: Libby Memorial Dance Scholarship

I have a son that is Libby’s age and it saddens my heart to see such a beautiful little girl gone too soon in this big world just know that she was an inspiration to many and many loved her so much. I don’t know any of you but just looking through Facebook since we have some mutual friends it absolutely crushed my heart of her passing. 💔 I will live my life and teach my son to live life like Libby did. I watched her services and cried along with you all. I will send a donation to her dance foundation. Hold your sons tight and teach them to live like their sister Libby did. Life is too short. I will pray for you daily and know your daughter touched even strangers 💕 hearts. RIP Libby

I met Libby through her friendship with my granddaughter, Ashlee. My memories of her are that of a wonderful girl, talented dancer and smiles that lite up her entire face. I will pray for all her family and friends. There just aren’t words to express how very sorry I am for this senseless loss.

I never met Libby. Never saw her smile or laugh. Never attended her in dance. But my heart sank when I read my daughter’s text. Please no, not a child? I cried. I could hear the heartbreak in my daughter’s text. She and my grandchildren had the pleasure of Libby’s smile and laughter in dance.
Know that my heart aches for your family and also the Kasper family. So sad. Please live your lives like Libby did. That is what she would want. Please look for and sign the Kasper petition. We can’t lose yet another beautiful soul.

Dearest Libby and family:
Our family’s hearts are so broken to know your Beautiful and Amazing daughter has lost her life in a car accident.  Our children Brandie and Lenny Kasper also had a car accidnet on Route 72 and Greystone Road May 22, 2021.  We want you to know we are working so very hard to make changes to this road.  We had hoped that this would have been done already! The sad part is loosing another young life when it could have been prevented.  Our tears are flowing today for all of your family.  This is the worst nightmare any family can go through.  We Thank You for sharing the words and pictures of Libby who gave so much to everyone in her short life!  She will never be forgotten and we will all “Live Like Libby.”  Sending you our Love and Hugs. Lobaugh/Miller Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Nothing can descirbe the umimagineable pain it is to lose a child, especially one as magnificent as Libby!  Having “Mrs. Miller” (Brooke Lobaugh) in 8th grade I remember her kindness and compassion for others, abilty to make us laugh, and passion for learning; it is no surprise Libby was nothing short of those things and more.  I am praying for your family, the DDX family, our Warwick community, and spreading the word to Live Like Libby.  Love to all of you during this difficult time.
Erin Myers (former student of Brooke, and collegue at WSD)
